about us
Hello, welcome to Lomas&Lomas. We are Garry & Sharon, Mr & Mrs, he loves photography and I love interior design. We always wanted to escape to the country and start our own creative business, so leaving the rat race behind in 2015 we moved from Manchester to Derbyshire to open a gallery & interiors store where we turned our passions into our business and never looked back.
We take our inspiration from the natural world, creating surface patterns & designs which begin life as photographic images captured by Garry or paintings created by Sharon. Together we develop a concept, patterns & colours. Sharon then translates our designs into handmade lampshades
In 2020, after five years running our gallery, we embarked on a new creative chapter making the move from Derbyshire to our beloved Lake District the week before Lockdown. Here in Cumbria we will continue our businesses from our online store, taking our inspirations from the wildlife & landscapes around us. The move ( and lockdown) has given us the chance to refine and refocus what we offer, so now we will be concentrating on unique nature inspired handmade lampshades.
In September 2020 we also launched a new, plant based, all natural candle brand called FERN+FELL and in February 2021 Sharon launched a new interior design service A Story of Home

2016 - Shortlisted for the Country Homes & Interiors "My Country Business Awards" for best Fabric & wallpaper Designers.
2017 - Sharon Lomas was "Highly Commended" by the judges in the Forward Ladies "Women in Business Awards" in the best Start Up category.
2017 - Finalists in the Northern Design Awards, in the category of "Best Designer Maker"
2018 - Finalists in The Rural Business Awards for Best Rural Retail Business (Midlands region).
2019 - Nominated for "Best Independent Store" in the UK Interior Awards and Sharon was also nominated for "Best Room Revamp"
